A Holiday Diet Plan That Actually Works!

Most people love spending time with their family during the holidays, gathered around the dinner table, saying prayer, and giving thanks for all you have and how far you've come. The time it took to prepare the food, shows how much you care. Family and friends come to bring their dishes made from traditional family recipes to add to the festivities. So many people have issues with weight, especially around the holidays. Some side dishes are just oozing with calories like macaroni and cheese, a high acid forming food, depending on the ingredients used in the recipe. High acid forming foods convert into fat which causes weight gain. They say eating turkey makes you sleepy, it has the amino acid tryptophan. If your like most people you'll eat till you drop. When you eat and then go to sleep, you tend to gain weight more easily. In desperation you try taking the weight off with diets that don't live up to their promises.

If weight loss is on your New Year's resolutions list, you won't have to look far, your body can do all the work. The body's best defense is when pH levels are balanced. A proper pH balance is critical to weight loss. When pH levels are at peak performance, the body can metabolize most of what we eat, turning food into energy instead of fat. When the kidney's fail to remove an abundance of acid, due to eating overly acidic foods like, hamburger, fries and a coke, the body is compromised and excessive acid is stored as fat. You can restore your body's pH back to health by eating more alkaline foods and drinking alkaline water. Squeezing a lemon or pH drops in a glass of water in the morning can help balance your body's pH level. Here are a list of acid/alkaline foods.

ACIDIC FOODS:Sugar
Processed Foods
High Fructose Corn Syrup
Extremely fried foods
Artificial Sweeteners
Ice cream
Processed Foods

ALKALINE FOODS:
Quinoa
Millet
Buckwheat
Organic Food
Plant based foods

Juicing is another big boost, that can restore your body's pH back to health quicker than anything else. Taking vitamin and herb supplements can help cleanse the blood. The acid/alkaline diet plan can be used throughout the year, not just around the holidays. You might ask what does the body's pH level have to do with losing weight. To understand how the acid based balance in the body works, you must know a little about chemistry.

PHPH stands for potential of hydrogen. On a scale from 0 to 14, with 7 being neutral. Anything below 7 is acidic and anything over 7 is alkaline. The blood is slightly more alkaline at 7.35, the stomach is very acidic at 3.5 so it can break down food and urine's pH changes, depending on what you eat. This is what keeps the blood's pH balanced.

PH is the balance between acidity and alkalinity. A proper pH balance is between 7.35 and 7.45, slightly over neutral. When the body's pH is balanced, it can metabolize food more efficiently, burning off excess acid waste for easy assimilation and elimination. PH test strips help keep track of your body's pH, so you can make changes in your diet to keep it balanced. You can purchase pH test strips at your local health food store. There are two ways to test your body's pH level:

1. Urine test - It is recommended that you take the test in the Morning to get overnight excess acid.

2. Saliva test - It is recommended that you take the saliva test in the morning before brushing your teeth or at least 2 or 3 hours after eating or drinking anything.

If losing weight was a chore, it's as easy as, giving your body what it needs to maintain a healthy pH balance. When acid/alkaline levels are balanced, fat cells don't stand a chance. Counting calories and eating smaller portions at the dinner table can also help with weight loss.
