Bouncing Back Into a Healthy Routine After Christmas

Are you fretting about the holiday season and thinking about all the Xmas goodies that are hard to resist, especially when your grandma is serving you up her double chocolate fudge Christmas cake to taste at 10pm on Christmas Eve?! Well you're not alone! We all know how it feels to overindulge in some of our favourite foods when with friends and family, especially during holidays. If you've been consistent with your healthy lifestyle this year you can let the reins go a bit and grab a few treats for yourself.

Now once the holiday celebrations end and we've enjoyed the quality time with family and friends, we then realise it's time to stop slipping and get back on track. It's time to give push that motivation and drive in order to make those healthy choices again. However after a week of indulging this is easier said than done to bounce back and stay motivated and working towards your goal. It's always best to take a steady pace back into your routines as going too fast and pushing too hard to quickly may result in you falling off the wagon quickly. So in order to bounce back during and after the holiday season we have the following tips that will help you stay or get back on track depending on when you decide to be good!

Drink UpRemember that with travelling, increased activities, cocktails and the late nights during the Christmas festivities your body will be exhausted and dehydrated. Therefore it is important that you increase your water intake. For instance mature adults lose about 2.5-3 litres of water per day. This amount can increase depending on the activities and hot weather. Therefore it is recommended that the adequate daily intake of fluids for mature adults is between 2-2.5 Litres per day. Depending on the person some of you may need to increase or reduce your fluid intake. Staying hydrated will help you bounce back as it will help reduce those cravings of sugary foods that we are sure you indulged in on the weekend. If you struggling drinking water, we recommend adding natural flavours such as cucumber, mint and lemon as these also help with hydrating, pH levels and detox.

Increase in water intake will help reduce bloating and the flushing out the toxins carried in processed foods, sugary treats.

Go RawThis is something we know many people are cautious about trying raw foods. However incorporating some raw foods into your meals after the festivities will help you feeling vibrant and recharged. Due to the heavy sugar and carbs you may have possibly had during Christmas, the intake of raw foods will help your digestive system and give you body a well deserved break. Including raw foods in each meal is a simple as having a fresh smoothie in the morning and a fresh salad for lunch.

Restore your pH LevelsAfter the endless nights of partying and cocktails, it is important to restore your alkaline balance levels. This will improve your energy levels and decrease bloating and inflammation. You can do this by enjoying a cup of lemon during meals and in the morning.

Do Cardio & WeightsAfter a few too many cupcakes and cocktails during the festivities, your body will have extra glycogen stored in the muscles. In order to burn through this stored fat you will need to increase your cardio and weights, in order to enhance full body routine and movement. Fat burners can be taken in order to enhance the fat burning process whilst exercising. You can consider combining your thermogenic fat burner with MRM CLA tablets which enhances the cells in your body to source energy from hard to reach stored fat. MRM CLA will also reduce the amount of fat your body stores, as long as combined with regular exercising. Combining High Interval session into your regular workout routine will also increase your fat burning process as well as reduce a stress level, which in turn also reduces sugar cravings and emotional eating.

Rest & Help DigestionAs a starting point to bouncing back into your healthy routine, we recommend you recharge and relax with a good 30-minute walk after dinner for the next few days. This will also help you unwind before bed while enjoying a bit of much needed "you time" after a busy weekend. Make sure to re-establish your sleeping routine by getting at least 7.5 hours of rest each night, as this will also help reset your system.

Bouncing BackIf you've had several weeks off during Christmas it is important to ease your way back into a healthy routine. Make sure to slowly increase your exercise routines and amount of weights. Throwing yourself too quickly can increase the risk of injury and also decrease your motivation and enjoyment. Including a Fat Burning supplement is also a good way to boost your body's fat burning process after all those cheeky cakes and keep you motivated and energised during the day.
